From the perspective of IT managers, I have seen so many times how AI has drastically improved the way teams assess and manag security threats.
In the past, the approach to threat assessment relied heavily on manual processes and human analysis. This was an is both time-consuming and prone to human error. But now, with the implementation of AI-powered security tools, we can automate many of these processes and analyze enormous amounts of data much more quickly and accurately.
One example of this is the use of AI-powered threat detection software. This software can monitor a network and identify potential threats in real-time. It can also analyze historical data to identify patterns and predict future threats. This has greatly improved the ability to proactively identify and mitigate potential security breaches before they occur.
AI is also helping IT teams to automate the process of incident response. For example, if there is a security breach, AI-powered incident response software can automatically take steps to contain and isolate the affected systems, this is a form of triage but it reduces the time it takes for a team to respond to the incident.
Another way that AI has improved our approach to threat management is through the use of natural language processing (NLP). This technology allows us to analyze large volumes of unstructured data, such as social media posts, news articles, and customer feedback, to identify potential threats. For example, if there is a new vulnerability discovered in a popular software, NLP can be used to identify any mentions of this vulnerability on social media, and alert my team to the potential threat.
